Researchers from the Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, Trans-Disciplinary University in India reported the successful management of a diabetic foot using an integrative approach. The case study was published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine.
The researchers concluded that an integrative approach that combines both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicine with advanced techniques for maintaining the dry state of wounds is an effective way of managing cases of diabetic foot and preventing major amputation. They hope that this kind of approach can be further studied to determine is applicability in managing different types of chronic, non-healing ulcers.
